Running
I firmly believe running is one of the resources that humanity is underutilizing the most.
For me it's an anchor, a way to ground myself and sort through my thoughts. It's like a washing machine for the mind. More than just physical exercise, running builds resilience, willpower, and tenacity. It's a great way to strengthen self-efficacy and push past your limits.
Running has taught me a few valuable lessons and often, it's while I'm running that I come up with my best ideas and insights.
I am currently working on Runline as a side project. Check it out!
Some of My Favourite Runs
A Few More Memorable Runs
- My first Marathon- Tel Aviv 2018 Marathon: 3:23:31. A significant milestone in my running journey.
- Running in Sync with Thousands of Crabs- While running barefoot near Kosi Lake (Kuhlange) on the border of South Africa and Mozambique, thousands of crabs would scatter away as I approached and then return towards the shore once I passed, creating a back-and-forth movement like an accordion or a sinus wave.
- Running With an Elite Pack- Briefly kept pace with the second pack of about ten elite runners in my team, feeling a thrilling sense of running in a pack of pumas, for an intense 8 km.
- Running with an African Colonel in Muizenberg- After running barefoot in a local race and finishing third, I joined a colonel for a challenging run in the hills above Muizenberg's coast, an unexpected and tough uphill adventure.
- Golan Volcano Run- 30 km trail run, climbing six dormant volcanoes, with stunning views and a tough moment of full-body cramps before the sixth volcano. I took two salt pills and continued to the finish line.
